wicked sticky is in north carolina

ok, so some of you were wondering who was knocking on our window in NJ.... this guy, named AL (weird) told Jay he was broken down on the highway. He said he blew out a radiator hose. He was begging for money, said he would send it back to us. He was desperate. We were exhausted. We told him to get lost & we left soon after.... we were kinda freeked out after that.

Anyway, back to our current situation.... We made it into Virginia around noon on Thursday. Found a hotel about 6miles from the highway... the Best Western Goveners' Inn. We asked if they had any jacuzzi rooms available & they did! The front desk guy, Chuck, was nice enough to let us check in really early. He was super nice. We told him we recently got married... and he proceeded to tell us about how he had been married for 27 years, then got divorced, because they got complacent & didn't know how to communicate. He then told us that he got married again, one year ago (it was his anniversary that day) and now he's very happy. Told us to make sure we listen to one another, and to do special things together that we enjoy doing. Hence, the road trip!

The room was HUGE! super comfy bed, big 2 person jacuzzi. We relaxed in the tub & took a little nap, then headed outside- because the weather was BEAUTIFUL! like a spring day after a long winter spell... the air was light and fruity, almost intoxicating!
We headed to a little cafe called Strawberry Street Cafe.... had crab & artichoke dip (jay & i were NOT big fans), then jay had a french dip sandwich and I had fried eggplant & black olive tapenade. We both had MAGIC HAT #9 on tap.... WOW. i highly reccomend it! very good.

We walked around town a bit, stopped in at a t-shirt place called BANG-ON. some good ideas in there!
Then went and got coffee at the Capital Grille. it was ok. but, i think we were just getting really tired, so we headed back to the hotel. Chilled out for a bit, checked email, watched Pretty Woman & just relaxed.
Dinner was nothing special, as we were not that hungry... just split a meal at Olive Garden.

But what we have noticed here is how incredibally friendly everyone is! It's so nice, refreshing! The southern accent in Virginia is slight, but the southern hospitality is overflowing!!!

We left Virginia around 11am Friday morning. Continuing to drive down 95S... i'm not sure where we're at right now, but think we'll be entering South Carolina shortly....
I'll update more later!!!
bye,
coaly gallant
